Syllabus for KG-2 (Ages 5-6)

In KG-2, the focus shifts to reinforcing KG-1 concepts and introducing more complex ideas, preparing the child for primary school. English Phonics: Blending two and three-letter words (CVC words like cat, sun, hop), identifying middle and end sounds. Sight Words: Introduction to high-frequency sight words (e.g., the, a, I, is, it, in). Writing: Writing uppercase and lowercase letters correctly, writing simple words. Sentence Structure: Forming simple sentences (e.g., "This is a cat."). Reading: Reading simple CVC word sentences and sight word sentences. Vocabulary: Expanding vocabulary with more descriptive words, opposites. Story Comprehension: Answering simple questions about stories. Islamiat Pillars of Islam: Introduction to the five pillars (Shahada, Salah, Zakat, Sawm, Hajj) in simple terms. Kalma Tayyaba: Memorization and understanding its meaning. Salah (Prayer): Introduction to the names of the five daily prayers, learning simple prayer steps (e.g., standing, bowing). Wudu (Ablution): Simple introduction to the concept. More Duas: Duas for starting and ending the day, before and after eating. Stories of Prophets: Simple stories of other prophets (e.g., Prophet Nuh, Prophet Ibrahim). Maths Number Recognition and Writing: 1-50. Counting: Counting by 2s, 5s, 10s (introduction). Number Concepts: Ordinal numbers (first, second, third), before/after numbers. Basic Addition: Using objects and fingers (up to 10). Basic Subtraction: Using objects and fingers (up to 10). Time: Introduction to hours (o'clock), days of the week, months of the year. Money: Recognizing simple currency (e.g., coins). Measurement: Comparing length, weight, capacity. Fractions: Introduction to half and whole. Urdu Huroof-e-Tahajji: Mastering identification and sounds of all Urdu letters. Formation of Words: Introduction to joining two and three letters to form simple words. Writing: Writing individual letters and simple Urdu words. Vocabulary: Expanding Urdu vocabulary, naming objects from daily life. Simple Sentences: Forming and reading very simple Urdu sentences. Rhymes and Stories: Reciting more complex Urdu rhymes and listening to short stories. General Knowledge My Country: Naming the country, national symbols (flag, animal). Traffic Rules: Basic road safety. Healthy Habits: Eating healthy, exercise, hygiene. Planets: Introduction to the solar system (naming a few planets). Plants: Parts of a plant, what plants need to grow. Weather: Types of weather, appropriate clothing. Festivals: Introduction to major Islamic festivals (Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha). Quran Noorani Qaida/Yassarnal Quran: Starting with a foundational book to learn to read Arabic. Makharij (Pronunciation): Introduction to correct pronunciation of Arabic letters. Harkaat (Vowels): Learning Fatha, Kasra, Dhamma. Memorization: Memorizing short surahs from Juz Amma (e.g., Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas). Islamic Etiquette: More in-depth understanding of basic Islamic manners.
